Premier League champions Manchester City have been found guilty of 114 out of 115 charges of financial misconduct.
The verdict was first reported by The Athletic on Friday. According to the report, Premier League clubs were informed of the outcome after a meeting on Thursday, where it was revealed City were guilty on all but one count.
No punishment has been announced yet. The independent commission is still to decide on sanctions, and Manchester City are expected to appeal the decision.
Reacting to the report, a City spokesperson said the process is still ongoing and remains strictly confidential. The club maintained that its stance has not changed since its February 2023 statement.
The spokesperson noted that City have respected due process throughout and trust that the Premier League will act independently and fairly.
The Premier League had charged Manchester City in 2023 for alleged breaches of its financial regulations between 2009 and 2018. The charges came after German outlet Der Spiegel published leaked documents about the club’s finances in 2018.
The case was later taken to an independent panel for trial. City have consistently denied the allegations, insisting they obeyed all financial rules.
Under Sheikh Mansour’s ownership, the club has won eight league titles, four FA Cups, seven League Cups and one Champions League title, with most of the success coming after the period covered by the charges.
