Nollywood actress Toyin Abraham has distanced herself from the Lagos State All Progressives Congress (APC) Campaign Council, saying she is not a member of any campaign council.
Abraham made this known on Thursday via her Instagram Story, hours after her name appeared in the list of members of the Entertainment and Creative Economy Directorate.
In her Instagram post she wrote: “I’m not a member of any campaign council. I have said it recently. I am staying out of politics. Please disregard the supposed inclusion of my name in any campaign committee.”
Her name was listed among dozens of entertainment figures in the full council list released on Thursday by the Kadri Obafemi Hamzat Media Centre.
The list was released ahead of the inauguration of the campaign council scheduled for Friday, September 18, at the APC Secretariat, ACME Road, Ikeja.
The directorate, according to the list, will be headed by the Commissioner for Tourism, Toke Benson-Awoyinka, as Director. Veteran actor Jide Kosoko will serve as Co-Director, while actress Eniola Badmus is Deputy Director.
Actor Akeem Alimi, popularly known as Ajala Jalingo, was named Secretary, with Dare Olateju as Assistant Secretary.
Other entertainers named in the directorate include Bimbo Akintola, Adebayo Salami (Oga Bello), Saheed Balogun, Bukky Wright, Fathia Balogun, Yinka Quadri, and Fuji stars Wasiu Alabi Pasuma, Abass Akande Obesere, Adewale Ayuba, Sulaimon Alao Malaika, Saheed Osupa and Small Doctor.
The Entertainment and Creative Economy Directorate is one of several directorates under the Lagos APC Campaign Council, chaired by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, with Deputy Governor Kadri Obafemi Hamzat as Deputy Chairman.
