American rapper Jay-Z has been confirmed as the headline act for the 2027 Super Bowl Halftime Show.
The announcement was made on Monday, October 26, during the Monday Night Football broadcast of the Philadelphia Eagles versus Dallas Cowboys game, by the NFL, Apple Music and Roc Nation.
The Super Bowl LXI game will be played on February 14, 2027 ,Valentine’s Day, at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, where the rapper just wrapped up his “JAY-Z 30” anniversary tour last weekend.
In a statement, the 56-year-old rap icon said: “From Reasonable Doubt to standing on the Super Bowl halftime stage, this has been a journey. Thirty years of music, work, and culture on the world’s biggest stage. This run continues to be a dream come true.”
This will be Jay-Z’s first time headlining the halftime show, often described as the most-watched music showcase in the world with over 100 million viewers. The event has previously featured stars like Beyonce, Prince, Madonna, and Bad Bunny, who headlined the 2026 edition.
NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell revealed that when the league partnered with Roc Nation in 2019 to produce the show, his only request was that Jay-Z would one day perform himself.
Jay-Z’s entertainment company Roc Nation has served as the NFL’s live music entertainment strategist since 2019 and has been responsible for selecting performers for the show.
The game will air live on ESPN, ABC and Disney+, with streaming on the ESPN app and NFL+.
