Veteran actor Jide Kosoko, actresses Toyin Abraham, Eniola Badmus, Bimbo Akintola and Fuji stars Pasuma, Obesere and Adewale Ayuba are among dozens of entertainment figures named to the All Progressives Congress (APC) Lagos Campaign Council’s Entertainment and Creative Economy Directorate.
The full council list was released by the Kadri Obafemi Hamzat Media Centre on Thursday, ahead of its inauguration on Friday, September 18, at the APC Secretariat, ACME Road, Ikeja.
According to the list, the state’s Commissioner for Tourism, Toke Benson-Awoyinka, will head the directorate as Director. Veteran Jide Kosoko will serve as Co-Director, while actress Eniola Badmus is Deputy Director. Actor Akeem Alimi, popularly known as Ajala Jalingo, is Secretary, with Dare Olateju as Assistant Secretary.
The directorate draws heavily from Nollywood and the Yoruba movie industry, including Adebayo Salami (Oga Bello), Saheed Balogun, Bukky Wright, Fathia Balogun, Yinka Quadri and Tayo Sobola.
Fuji music is also well represented with Wasiu Alabi Pasuma, Abass Akande Obesere, Adewale Ayuba, Sulaimon Alao Malaika, Akorede Babatunde Okunola (Saheed Osupa) and Temitope Adekunle (Small Doctor) all listed as members.
The Entertainment and Creative Economy Directorate is one of several structures under the main campaign council, which has Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu as Chairman and Deputy Governor Kadri Obafemi Hamzat as Deputy Chairman.
