Faith-based film, Agbara Nla: The Return, has grossed over N307.2 million at the Nigerian box office, making it the fourth highest-grossing Nollywood film of 2026.
The film’s distributor, Nile Group, announced the milestone on Friday, October 16, in a post on Instagram, thanking Nigerian audiences for their support.
According to the announcement, the film has become the highest grossing Nollywood title ever released in October.
“Thank you, Nigeria! Agbara Nla: The Return has grossed N307.2M+, the highest grossing Nollywood title ever for an October release and the fourth highest-grossing Nollywood title of 2026,” the distributor said.
The latest figure shows a significant rise from the N170.6 million the film recorded in its first four days in cinemas, which included N71.4 million from previews and N99.2 million from its opening weekend between October 2 and 4.
The distributor had earlier described the opening as the biggest non-December opening weekend for a Nollywood film, the biggest October opening, and the biggest opening weekend for a faith-based title.
Agbara Nla: The Return is a remake of the 1993 classic created by evangelist Mike Bamiloye under Mount Zion Film Productions. The new version is directed by his sons, Damilola Mike-Bamiloye and Joshua Mike-Bamiloye (Jay Mikee), with Bamiloye reprising his role as Isawuru.
The film opened in cinemas nationwide on October 1 and is still showing.
