He made it 3-0 for City in the 43rd minute with a close-range finish and added his second in the 57th minute from Rayan Cherki’s pass to put City 4-2 up. Enzo Maresca’s side held on despite a hat-trick from Sunderland’s Brian Brobbey to go three points clear of Arsenal.
In the same league, Senegal striker Nicolas Jackson was on target for Aston Villa in their 3-2 win at Tottenham. Jackson, who had earlier scored in the Champions League against Club Brugge, broke his Premier League duck for the season in the 67th minute when he evaded Jan Paul van Hecke and fired home to make it 2-0. Villa held on for their first league win in five games despite a late rally from Spurs.

In Germany, Morocco forward Ismael Saibari netted his first goal for Bayern Munich since joining from PSV Eindhoven in a 7-0 demolition of Union Berlin. Cutting in from the left, Saibari scored Bayern’s fifth with 20 minutes left. It capped a fine weekend for the 25-year-old, who was named Footballer of the Season in the Netherlands after scoring 19 goals and providing nine assists in 37 matches as PSV won the Dutch title.
In France, Ghana winger Ernest Nuamah scored twice in 30 minutes as second-placed Lyon hammered Rennes 4-0 in Ligue 1. The 22-year-old, who has now scored four goals in all competitions this season, received a standing ovation when he was substituted in the second half.
