Nollywood actress Regina Daniels has opened up on months of severe pain and mobility issues that left her dependent on a wheelchair.
The actress disclosed this in a video posted on her Instagram page on Saturday, October 10, to mark her 25th birthday and explain her long absence from social media.
Appearing in a wheelchair, Daniels said she was surprised many fans would be shocked to see her in that condition, but decided to share what she has been going through.
She said she lost her freedom to move freely for several months after what started as a minor health problem gradually worsened.
According to her, her condition took a major turn after the Children’s Day carnival she hosted, followed by repeated medical tests.
Daniels said she jokingly began calling herself a lab rat as she went from one test to another, while the pain became excruciating and unpredictable.
She explained that sometimes she could walk well and at other times she could not move at all, adding that the experience brought her to tears.
The mother of two said it was emotionally difficult having to depend on people for even the smallest tasks, contrasting with her usually active lifestyle.
Daniels, however, said she has seen significant improvement in her recovery, which encouraged her to speak publicly, and expressed gratitude to God for healing as she enters her new age.
