The accident happened on Monday, October 12, around Agodi Gardens in Ibadan North Local Government Area.

Eyewitness accounts said the articulated truck had earlier hit several vehicles around the Sango area before proceeding to Agodi Gardens, where it crushed a motorcycle carrying the corps member.

The Oyo State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Kehinde Dahunsi, confirmed the crash. He said it involved a truck and a motorcycle, noting that the motorcycle rider sustained a leg fracture.

According to Dahunsi, rescue teams evacuated the victims, taking the body of the late corps member to the State Hospital morgue, while the injured rider was rushed to the University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan.

She was said to be on her way home after work with another corps member when the incident occurred. Her colleague sustained injuries and is receiving treatment at UCH.

The Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Adebo Ogundoyin, described her death as painful and devastating, extending condolences to her family, colleagues and fellow corps members.
