Kylian Mbappé could leave Real Madrid if his demands for a stronger team are not met, according to a report.
French journalist Daniel Riolo, regarded as close to the Mbappé family, suggested on RMC Sport’s After Foot that the forward is not happy with the current project at Madrid.
“If he does not have the team he wants, it’s possible that he will leave. I think it’s possible. I don’t think he’s happy with everything that’s happening at Real Madrid this season,” Riolo said.
His comments were highlighted by transfer expert Fabrizio Romano on X on Friday and further discussed on Cadena SER’s El Larguero.
Riolo framed the remark as a sentiment, not concrete information, but it has sparked speculation in Spanish and French media.
The report comes amid controversy over Mbappé’s international break. He withdrew from France duty after an injury against Turkey on September 25, but later shared images of himself at Paris Fashion Week and riding a bicycle in Switzerland.
Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho described criticism of Mbappé as “ridiculous” and defended his player, saying the squad fulfilled their obligations during the break.
Mbappé, 27, still has a contract with Madrid until June 2029. Any departure in summer 2027 would require a huge fee, with reports putting it at €200m to €250m.
Premier League clubs Liverpool and Arsenal have been linked as potential destinations.
