Kenya Airways Confirms Passenger Died On Lagos-Bound Flight

Kenya Airways has confirmed a passenger died after a medical emergency on its Nairobi to Lagos flight on Tuesday night.

In a statement on Wednesday, the airline said the passenger became unresponsive at about 9:20 pm Nigerian time, about 20 minutes before landing in Lagos on October 6, 2026.

The crew administered first aid and followed emergency procedures. The aircraft landed at Murtala Muhammed International Airport at 9:41 pm, where medical personnel boarded and confirmed the passenger dead.

“We convey our deepest condolences to the family and friends of the deceased,” Kenya Airways said, adding it is working with the family, local authorities and aviation regulators.

The NCAA confirmed the incident, saying police have taken over investigation, while preliminary reports indicated the passenger was being deported from Madagascar after being denied entry.
