Billion-dollar sleep technology company Eight Sleep is expanding beyond sleep tracking into healthcare.
The company, which built its reputation on smart beds that monitor sleep and adjust temperature automatically, is now exploring how the data it collects can help detect and manage health conditions.
Chief Executive Matteo Franceschetti said the same technology that tracks sleep quality and regulates bed temperature could have wider medical applications.
He explained that by continuously monitoring sleep patterns, heart rate and other body signals through the bed, the system could provide early insights into a person’s health.
Franceschetti disclosed this in an interview with Becky Anderson, where he spoke about the company’s plans to move its innovation from the bedroom into the healthcare space.
According to him, the goal is to use sleep data not just to improve rest, but to support early detection and better management of health conditions.
The move signals a growing shift in sleep-tech, where companies are leveraging bed-based data to play a bigger role in personal health and preventive care.
