Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have killed more than 40 ISWAP fighters, including a top commander, in Borno State.
The terrorists were hit on October 10, 2026, at their hideout in Badu Village, south of Gudumbali in Guzamala Local Government Area, while they were preparing for coordinated attacks on military positions within Sector 3.
The acting Military Information Officer of the Joint Task Force North East Operation Hadin Kai, Capt. Mohammed Goni, disclosed this in a statement issued on Monday.
According to him, the Air Component of the task force acted on credible intelligence, carried out aerial surveillance to track movements around suspected hideouts and logistics hubs, and launched a precision strike on a building occupied by the fighters.
He said the operation also led to the destruction of two vehicles and about 20 motorcycles the terrorists used for mobility and logistics.
Goni said the strike dealt a major blow to the Islamic State West Africa Province network operating in that axis.
