President Bola Tinubu on Sunday paid a courtesy visit to the Oba of Lagos, Oba Rilwan Akiolu, at Iga Idunganran Palace on Lagos Island.
The visit provided an opportunity for the President to receive royal prayers and counsel from the traditional ruler for his administration.
Tinubu was received at the palace by members of the royal household and enthusiastic residents who gathered to welcome him.
Supporters, All Progressives Congress members and well-wishers lined the streets around Marina and Isale Eko as the President’s motorcade approached. The gathering created a festive atmosphere, with residents cheering the President.
The royal father offered prayers for Tinubu, his administration and the nation, seeking divine guidance and continued peace and prosperity.
Oba Akiolu also offered counsel to the President on matters concerning the country and the wellbeing of Nigerians.
The meeting underscored the traditional institution’s role in maintaining dialogue with the Federal Government and supporting national development.
Tinubu was accompanied by Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and his Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila. APC stalwarts, political associates and other dignitaries also joined the President during the visit.
The visit formed part of his engagements with prominent Nigerians and traditional rulers since his return to Lagos from his working vacation.
