Interswitch, Africa’s leading integrated payments and digital commerce company, has flagged off the sixth edition of its TechConnect industry engagement series in Owerri, Imo State.
The initiative, themed “Built for What’s Next: Designing Adaptive Financial Infrastructure for a Dynamic Market,” is aimed at convening stakeholders across government, financial services, technology and business to discuss infrastructure, partnerships and capabilities required to power a rapidly changing digital economy.
According to the company, TechConnect 6.0 will focus on how organisations can build financial systems that are scalable, interoperable, secure and resilient enough to respond to evolving technology, customer expectations and business models.
The Owerri edition held on Wednesday, September 24, 2026 at the Protea Hotel, featured a keynote address by Mr. Justice R. Okoye, FCA, ACTI, Executive Chairman of the Imo State Internal Revenue Service, who spoke on strengthening institutions and expanding economic participation through adaptive infrastructure. Commissioner for Finance and Coordinating Economy, Imo State, Chuck O. N. Chuckuemeka also delivered a presentation.
The programme included a keynote, fireside chat, panel session on “Driving Digital Transformation Through Public Private Partnerships,” product showcases and networking.
Speaking ahead of the roadshow, Vice President, Business Innovation and Growth, Interswitch, Tyoyila Aga said the future requires infrastructure built with change in mind.
“Building for what’s next means designing infrastructure with change being top of mind. Markets, customer expectations and business needs will continue to evolve, so the systems that support them must be scalable, interoperable, secure and resilient enough to evolve with them,” Aga said.
Following Owerri, the multi city series will move to Abuja on October 8, Ibadan on October 22 and Lagos on October 27, where discussions will cover interoperability, cybersecurity, data protection, system resilience and public private collaboration.
